Western Muslims urged to join Middle Eastern uprisingCountry/Region: Australia
Muslims in Australia and Britain are being urged to join the
uprisings that have toppled regimes across the Middle East,
renounce moderate forms of the religion and to reject democracy, at
conferences sponsored by an Islamist organisation.
Around 1,000 people attended an event hosted by Hizb ut-Tahrir at Lidcombe, Sydney on 3 July. The conference, titled the Khilafah Conference, now moves to London on 9 July.
