Christian Ministries
Barnabas Fund supports a wide variety of Christian ministries throughout the world. These range from funding local pastors and evangelists, to financing theological colleges and other training programmes for the local Christian community.
Support for Christian Workers
Many national churches are very poor and congregations find it difficult to raise the resources to support those in full-time ministry.
Barnabas Fund is currently supporting 205 pastors and 228 evangelists/pioneers/church planters. It costs on average about £10 per week to support a full-time pastor or evangelist.
Training
Training is a great need in many places, for church leaders and others. Strengthening the leaders enables the leaders to strengthen the rest of the community.
Barnabas Fund supports a wide variety of training projects including theological colleges and Bible schools. A typical figure would be £40 to provide a week's training for one person.
Practical Resources
Many Christians around the world live in very basic houses with few facilities and churches do not have much furniture, equipment, or other resources.
Each year we support projects to strengthen the Church and equip Christian workers. This covers such things as bicycles and motorcycles, office equipment, musical instruments, alongside more unusual items like water tanks and specialised telephone equipment.
Other Ministries
Barnabas Fund also provides help for a mixture of other projects, including satellite TV, radio and internet ministries, who are working to bring encouragement and support to Christian communities suffering from discrimination.
