Giving Tuesday

Encouraging generosity with an international day of giving for suffering and persecuted Christians in Armenia

How can I get involved with Barnabas Aid for Giving Tuesday 2022?

Many are struggling to meet their daily needs in the historic Armenian Christian enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh, which was invaded by Azerbaijan in 2020. Barnabas Aid is helping our Armenian brothers and sisters to support themselves financially through small farming ventures, like raising sheep and pigs or producing honey.

We want to encourage anyone who can to send a special Giving Tuesday gift to those who are less fortunate than themselves. As we enter Advent and prepare for the coming of our Saviour into the world, Barnabas Aid is encouraging supporters to send a special Giving Tuesday donation to our Armenian brothers and sisters.

How will my donation be used to sustain Christian families in Armenia?

Anything you can give will help Armenian families in need. You can donate as much or as little as you can spare. We’ve also got a breakdown of how much it costs to give practical elements to help families meet their daily needs, to give you an idea of what your donation will buy for a family.

£4
($4.75; €4.70)

could pay for the transport of two piglets to each family.

£12
($13.80; €13.60)

could pay for the transport of five beehives to one family.

£108
($128; €127)

How will my gift make a difference?

Many Armenian Christians were lost their home and their livelihoods when Azerbaijan invaded Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2020. Your donation can help Christian families support themselves financially through pig and sheep-rearing, as well as bee-keeping, ensuring they can survive and maintain a Christian presence in this historic region.

Farming is a traditional occupation for the families of Nagorno-Karabakh, and anything you give will be used to boost their efforts in obtaining an income as they face intimidation and persecution from the invaders.
