What will you be doing:

The successful applicant will form part of a small editorial team who produce the written content for our global aid ministry, from our international headquarters in Pewsey, Wiltshire, UK.

You will need to be able to:

The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys collaborating with colleagues in a team, and will get satisfaction from performing detailed tasks with precision, but also like the stimulus of new challenges and changing situations. This is a role for someone who loves to learn, who is interested in the global scene and likes interacting with people from a variety of cultures. Your summary of duties involve:

  • Writing of copy for Barnabas Aid Magazine, Barnabas Prayer Booklet, Prayer Focus Update, email updates, news reports, editorials, web pages, fundraising appeals, project newsletters, donor reports and booklets/leaflets for publication (Barnabas Gifts, Praying for the Suffering Church etc.);
  • Assisting the Head of Department with processes for content sign-off and approval;
  • Proofreading, fact-checking and copy-editing drafts written by other members of the editorial team;
  • Brainstorming, researching and fact-finding (from contemporary and historical sources) for topics and ideas for upcoming publications
  • Reviewing booklets, leaflets, videos, other written publicity materials and web content, proposing and organising revisions with Editorial team;
  • Liaison, as necessary, with national Barnabas Aid offices around the world for localised versions of material, including amendments and suitable material for different cultures and audiences where required;
  • Administrative support and other duties as required.

Salary is dependent on skills and experience.

You will be working within our Editorial team at our BA Headquarters in Pewsey. This is an office-based role. Any successful candidate will need to be committed to Barnabas Aid’s ethos, statement of faith and aims, and have the right to work in the UK.
