Pakistani Christian Widows Need YOUR Help

June 25, 2021

“During these difficult times, you came to our rescue. We experience the strange works of God in our lives. We didn’t have anything to eat. The man of God delivered food at our doorstep. May God bless you abundantly. Amen!” These were the words of widowed Muktara, who works in a factory, along with her 17-year-old daughter Gulnaz, to support the younger children. The food delivered to their home is a monthly food parcel from Barnabas Aid.

Rafiqa does her best to support her children, since the death of her husband, who used to sell Christian materials. Barnabas food parcels help the family to survive.

Rafiqa’s husband used to sell Christian materials such as magazines, storybooks, cassettes, calendars and crosses, until he died of a heart attack three years ago. Rafiqa then got work as a domestic servant in a private home. It is a hard and dangerous job for a Christian woman, but she has to support her three young children. She worries too about her elderly father-in-law, now reduced to begging. Monthly food parcels from Barnabas help the family survive.

Working through local churches in Pakistan, Barnabas Aid is providing monthly food parcels for 400 desperately needy Christian widows and their children. A typical food parcel contains rice, flour, chickpeas, salt, tea and cooking oil, plus soap, toothpaste, matches and more. The cost is just $27 per family per month.

The Bible tells us, “The worship that God wants is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help” (James 1:27).

By making a gift to Barnabas Aid, you can care for these widows, our sisters in Christ, in desperate need of help.
